Childcare Provider Wrexham

Our Offering

Leading Childcare Provider

ABC Day Nursery is dedicated to providing a safe and stimulating environment where children can extend their learning experiences and develop positive relationships with their peers and adults. Our happy, relaxed and positive atmosphere supports each child’s development and progress through the different stages of the preschool years. Our surroundings are attractive and adaptable, enabling young children to grow in confidence and become active learners. Our qualified and enthusiastic staff are committed to providing the highest quality of care for every child.

The nursery is well equipped

with materials and equipment. We have created a free-flowing play area that provides a seamless link between indoor and outdoor learning activities that are aligned with all areas of Foundation Learning in Wales.

Our large, purpose-built outdoor play area

encourages children to explore and understand the natural environment. It builds self-esteem, develops language skills and supports cognitive development. We celebrate a variety of cultural festivals throughout the year and offer bilingual education in Welsh and English.

We maintain age-appropriate rooms

where babies, toddlers and preschoolers can grow in confidence. We come together to share stories, songs and meals. This fosters a sense of community and belonging among the children in our care.

Ladybirds – Babies

At ABC Day Nursery, we actively support working families by ensuring that their babies receive the best care and attention. We care for babies from birth in our Ladybird Room, a bright and airy space that provides a calming and relaxing environment that encourages communication and movement. Our team is trained to provide babies with a stimulating environment where their safety and wellbeing are paramount. Our curriculum follows the Welsh Government’s Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care developmental pathways for children aged 0 to 3 years. This is designed to support the development of strong, healthy and competent children who are skilled communicators. A range of activities are available to support social, creative and physical development. A dedicated sleep room ensures babies are well rested. We work with parents and carers to ensure that babies’ routines are maintained. To ensure babies get the best possible start in life, our Ladybird team is committed to giving them the support and encouragement they need to thrive.

Bumblebees – 1-2 years

At the age of 1, confident walkers will move into our Bumblebee Room. Here, in this bright, spacious room, we follow a seasonal programme of activities designed to support the mental and physical development of young toddlers. These range from problem-solving, sensory play, creative play, messy play and circle time, where we share stories, sing and dance. The room has direct access to a dedicated outdoor play area.

Dragonflies – 2-3 years

When the children reach the age of 2, they move to our Dragonfly Room. Our dedicated team helps the children develop their language skills and gain an understanding of the world to prepare them for preschool. Here, they will develop fine and gross motor skills, expand their creativity and imagination, and learn about different cultures. Dragonflies have access to an outdoor area designed to meet their developmental needs. Our aim is to provide positive learning experiences that nurture ambitious, capable learners.

Butterflies - Preschool

The Butterfly Room is a purpose-built classroom with a covered outdoor play area for our preschool children. For our 3 to 4 year olds, we follow the Welsh Curriculum, which focuses on five developmental pathways that support the needs of the developing child, namely belonging, communication, exploration, physical development and wellbeing. We organise a range of activities designed to develop problem-solving capabilities, creative expression through dance, art and music, and numeracy and language skills. This broad and balanced curriculum aims to create ambitious, capable learners, enterprising and creative contributors, ethically informed citizens, and healthy, confident individuals.

Every child in Wales is entitled to 10 hours a week of Foundation Phase nursery education from the term after their third birthday, and some families may be eligible for an additional 20 hours of free childcare through the Childcare Offer for Wales. Find out more.
