ABC Day Nursery, Wrexham

About Us

Home from Home

We operate a home-from-home learning environment with fully equipped indoor and outdoor play areas. We follow the Welsh Curriculum for funded, non-maintained nursery settings, designed by practitioners for practitioners to support the developmental pathways from 0 to 3 years. Our leafy setting gives children the unique opportunity to explore the natural world, stimulating their curiosity, imagination and creativity. With spacious, age-appropriate rooms combined with a child-led approach, children are able to develop with confidence and reach key milestones at their own pace.

Flexible and Affordable Childcare

We provide high-quality, flexible and affordable childcare that aims to meet the needs of families living and working in Wrexham and Flintshire. Children can attend on a full-time or part-time basis. Consideration will be given to shift patterns, subject to availability. We endeavour to accommodate children with special needs wherever possible. We are approved to provide Tax-Free Childcare to eligible parents and can help you identify all possible funding opportunities, including funded Flying Start and Early Years education.

OUR NURSERY

The current owner, Sarah Love, acquired ABC Day Nursery in 2005 after it was founded in 1980. Sarah is passionate about giving children the best possible start in life. The nursery is registered with the Care Inspectorate for Wales (CIW) to care for 38 children aged from birth to the age of 12. It is open weekdays from 7.30 a.m. to 6 p.m., 51 weeks a year. ABC is set on private grounds with easy access to Wrexham, Chester and Mold.

Flying Start

ABC is an accredited provider for Flying Start in Wrexham, the Welsh Government-funded childcare programme that aims to give children aged 0 to 4 the best possible start in life. At ABC Day Nursery, we put the child’s wellbeing first, helping them explore new interests, learn new skills, grow in confidence and develop creativity and independence.

Foundation Phase Education

In Wales, all children are entitled to a minimum of 10 hours of foundation phase education from the term after their third birthday until they reach school age. This usually consists of at least 10 hours a week in the Butterfly Room, our specially designed pre-school classroom. In addition, families eligible for the Childcare Offer for Wales can access a further 20 hours of free childcare per week for 48 weeks of the year.

School Partnerships

We have excellent links with local schools. We run after-school and holiday clubs at Ysgol Abermorddu and Ysgol Estyn. This enables us to help local children make a smooth transition when they reach school age. We also provide a transport service to several local schools for working families needing full daycare.

Awesome Advantages

We prepare home-cooked meals, hold a 5-star food hygiene rating and are accredited with the Flintshire Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme. We have also been awarded the Tiny Tums Award for our commitment to providing dietician-approved meals and snacks.

We offer free parking. Parents and carers are welcome to visit the Cabin Caff coffee shop and the Shed Load of Beauty salon, both of which are on site. If there is a waiting list, priority will be given to siblings of children already registered at ABC Day Nursery.
